Today, after a meeting between representatives from both clubs, Juventus have officially rejected Barcelona’s €80 million offer for midfielder Paul Pogba.

Earlier today it was learned that Barcelona’s sporting director and director of sporting institutional relations had flown to Turin to hold face-to-face discussions with Juventus sporting director Guiseppe Marotta.

Although the La Liga side is in the midst of its presidential elections, the club had continued moving forward with its efforts to secure Pogba’s signature.

Marotta agreed to meet with the Barcelona officials in order to discuss what was understood to be an offer of around €80 million plus various add-ons.

Following the conclusion of today’s meeting, Moratta informed the media that an offer had been received and was rejected.

“The mood of the meeting was very good, terrific,” the Juventus sporting director said. “But we did not reach an agreement for Pogba with Barcelona.

“We received an offer of €80 million. But I can say that Juventus do not want to sell Pogba.”

Juventus also reportedly rejected a €70 million bid from Barcelona a few months ago.

It now appears, unless the player demands a transfer, that the France international will remain in Turin for the near future.

Pogba signed a contract extension with Juventus back in October which tied him to the Turin club until June 2019.
