Fabio Capello has heaped praise onto Carlo Ancelotti in a recent interview. Speaking at the Marca Sports Weekend 2023, the Italian proclaimed that his fellow countryman Ancelotti was the best of the best in his field.

Capello backed up this opinion using Ancelotti’s coaching record in various countries.

“He’s the best of all. When you win in Spain, in Italy, in England, in France… It’s because you know,” stated Capello. “Numbers are numbers. Madrid is not an easy team, you have to know things.

When you talk to players, they understand perfectly if you know or don’t know. The quality they have of understanding the moment. Last year after winning LaLiga, they talked about why they went behind and played against it. It’s the tactic.”

Capello was also asked about the possibility of the Real Madrid manager taking over as coach of the Brazil national team.

“Carlo has experience. He knows the languages and the language of football, which are two important things,” Capello explained.

“When you go to train in another country you have to understand many things: what football is like that people want, how can I do things, know the languages… and I think Carlo can do everything very well.”

“The difference as a coach is something that you know and can understand in Spain. If you coach Madrid it’s one thing, Barcelona another thing, Valencia another thing and Sevilla, another thing.

The same in Italy, Milan, Juventus, Inter is one thing, you go to Rome and it is another. Carlo for me can train all over the world.”

Rumors continue about Ancelotti leaving Madrid

Ancelotti is seemingly rated highly by Real Madrid officials. After all, the Italian won the UEFA Champions League and LaLiga last season. However, there have been rumblings that the Spanish giants could move on from their coach this summer.

Rivals Barcelona are currently 12 points clear of Real atop the table.

Brazil has also reportedly approached Ancelotti about taking the job. Although the manager has since played down the move, these rumors have not gone away. Manchester City and Brazil goalkeeper Ederson even recently claimed that there was a “big possibility” Ancelotti could join the team.

Fellow Real players Casemiro, Vinicius, and Eder Militao apparently discussed the potential move with Ederson.
