Wolfsburg Sign Mandzukic As Squad Reshuffle Continues

Croatian International Mandzukic Will Be Amongst The Goals For Die Wolfe Next Season.

Steve McClaren has quickly replaced former striker Obafemi Martins with the highly-rated Mario Mandzukic from Dinamo Zagreb. The Wolfe merry-go-round is certainly picking up some speed with players coming in and moving out of the club on almost a bi-daily basis.

Mandzukic initially signed for Zagreb in 2007, as a replacement for Arsenal’s Eduardo, who left Zagreb to join the North London club. Since then, Mandzukic has scored 42 goals in 81 games for the club, which is quite a handy return for any striker.

Mandzukic will be used in rotation with Grafite and Dzeko, but it will also be interesting to see how McClaren brings all of these new players together and creates a team out of them. McClaren’s Wolfe project could take a few years, but he certainly is constructing a very competent squad. McClaren will already have one eye on a European spot this season, but if he can hold on to key players like Edin Dzeko, he will still have one eye on a title challenge.
