Eilhoff (Arminia Bielefeld)
Eight saves had Arminia within seconds of their first road win in 13 months, but poor marking cost Arminia a chance to break this jinx. Nonetheless, they came away from a trip to Frankfurt with points after being outplayed and out-shot.
Porcello (Karlsruhe)
Scored one goal and set up the second as KSC ended Wolfsburg reign as the last undefeated. In addition, he played well on the defensive side.
Geromel (Koln)
Most plaudits went to his teammate Mohamad for the goal, but Geromel was the one leading the back line and organizing. He put in an outstanding performance against Schalke.
Neven Subotic (Dortmund)
Stop me if you’ve heard this before…..but amazing. He was always there when Stuttgart managed to break through the midfield to end the threat before it got close to net.
Patrick Ochs (Eintracht)
Dangerous throughout the match for Frankfurt. His beautiful feed to Kohler in the dying minutes saved Funkel’s job.
Petit (Koln)
Put in one of the best performances to date this campaign for any team. He was leadership personified.
Kuba (Dortmund)
Consistently exploited the slow Magnin and the space left free by Pardo’s injury to torment Stuttgart’s defense.
Huszti (Hannover)
Sure the free-kick was amazing, but he was tireless and effective all game and would have had a second had Forssel squared the ball late.
Mesut Ozil (Werder Bremen)
Diego who?
Thomas Hajnal (Dortmund)
He formed an outstanding partnership with Kuba and scored a cracker. Nonetheless, it was down to him and Augusto, and I felt that Augusto will be a permanent in the XI and Hajnal did score two against Udinese in midweek.
Aaron Hunt (Werder Bremen)
Hunt set up Ozil’s first and scored the third. He is sometimes the forgotten forward at Werder, but he was the best forward in the Bundesliga this week.
