Sunday's Bundesliga Preview: Ribery Returns For Bayern Munich

Looks Suspiciously Like Tottenham's Gareth Bale....

After some of yesterday’s shock results, Bayern Munich and Hoffenheim have the chance to capitalize on their rivals’ mistakes. Bayern Munich host Nurnberg, and Hoffenheim host Freiburg.

Bayern Munich v Nurnberg

Bayern Munich will be boosted by the return of both Franck Ribery and Mark van Bommel, but this match will be anything but easy. Nurnberg have been surprisingly good despite nearly being relegated last year, and a win today could take them to fourth. Ilkay Gundogan has been in fantastic form for the visitors, and has already scored twice against Bayern Munich this season. Nurnberg will set up defensively, and will look to catch their opponents on the counter-attack. Despite their comfortab table position, they’ve only won a single game away from home this season, so a visit to the Allianz Arena may still be a bridge too far for Nurnberg.

TSG Hoffenheim v SC Freiburg

I like this Hoffenheim side, and I think Gylfi Sigurdsson is going become a top attacking midfield player in the future. He’s already come up big for his new side when he’s been given the chance, and I hope he takes to the pitch again today. His creativity is fantastic, his ability from long-range is superb, and I think he’s been a fantastic capture for Hoffenheim who could have been out of luck following Carlos Eduardo’s summer departure. Freiburg have one of the most on-form strikers in the league in their side in the form of Papiss Cisse, and he’ll once again be the major threat going forward for the visitors. Still, I think Hoffenheim will take this.
