Manchester United desperately need a win against Swansea City when both sides clash at Old Trafford on Saturday after going six league games without winning.

The Red Devils only scored three goals in that period and lost three consecutive games before managing a scrappy 0-0 draw against Chelsea on Monday.

The poor run of form has heaped so much pressure on Louis van Gaal in recent weeks that the Dutchman walked out of the press conference before the Stoke defeat after a five minute rant about how the English media were being unfair to him.

The 64-year-old needs a win and convincing performance from his players come Saturday as anything other than that may well spell the end of his tenure at Old Trafford.

Swansea City on the other hand are in a really poor state with just one win from their last nine matches which sees them in 17th place, just two points above the relegation places.

The Swans have been unable to find a permanent manager since Garry Monk was sacked which will see Alan Curtis take charge of this fixture.

The only positive thing for the Welsh side coming into this match is that they have a decent recent record against United with four wins in the last five games between the sides (all competitions).

Team News

Louis van Gaal is likely to name an unchanged starting XI from the one that drew 0-0 with Chelsea on Monday which means Memphis Depay will start from the bench once more. Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo, Antonio Valencia and Jesse Lingard remain sidelined.

For the visitors, Wayne Routledge should be in the squad for this one after missing the last game due to injury. Federico Fernandez could also return to the lineup along with Andre Ayew, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Ki Sung-yueng.
