EPL Commentators on NBC: March 12 to March 14

Harry Kane and Tottenham visit fifth-place Manchester United this Saturday, March 12 at 12:30 p.m. ET on Peacock, highlighting Premier League action across NBC Sports this weekend.

Tottenham defeated Everton, 5-0, on Monday as Kane netted a brace and Heung-Min Son added a goal. Manchester United fell to Manchester City, 4-1, last weekend in the Manchester Derby. Manchester United (47 points) and Tottenham (45) are separated by two points in the table entering this weekend. Arlo White and Graeme Le Saux will call the match live from Old Trafford.

This weekend’s coverage begins Saturday with Premier League Mornings at 7 a.m. ET on Peacock, followed by Brighton & Hove Albion hosting Mohamed Salah and second-place Liverpool at 7:30 a.m. ET. Liverpool, who topped West Ham, 1-0, last weekend, have won seven consecutive league matches and are six points behind first-place Manchester City. Then at 10 a.m. ET, Burnley visit Brentford on USA Network and Universo.

On Sunday, March 13, five matches will be presented live at 10 a.m. ET: West Ham v. Aston Villa (USA Network, Telemundo), Christian Pulisic and Chelsea v. Newcastle (Peacock), Everton v. Wolverhampton Wanderers (Peacock), Leeds United v. Norwich City (Peacock), and Southampton v. Watford (Peacock). During the 10 a.m. ET multi-match window, Goal Rush will stream on Peacock, providing viewers the most compelling action in real time and on replay so they won’t miss a single goal or key play.

At 12:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, fourth-place Arsenal host Leicester City on USA Network and Telemundo, followed by Goal Zone at 2:30 p.m. ET (USA Network). White and Lee Dixon will call the action live from Emirates Stadium.

Paul Burmeister hosts this weekend’s Premier League Mornings, Premier League Live and Goal Zone shows alongside former Jamaica National Team and Premier League player Robbie Earle and former Premier League player Robbie Mustoe. On Monday, Anna Whiteley hosts and is joined by Mustoe and former Premier League player Danny Higginbotham. Whiteley is a host of Golf Today and Golf Central on GOLF Channel.

Jim Proudfoot and Jim Beglin will be on world feed commentary duty for Aston Villa v Arsenal on March 19 (according to Jim Beglin via Twitter.)

We know that Karen Carney was “campaigning” (during Premier League Today on March 8) her Premier League Productions/IMG bosses to call a Premier League match together with Pien Meulensteen.

They were both selected by CBS Sports to call men’s UEFA CL on March 16, but were placed on separate matches: Meulensteen and Lucy Ward called Juventus v Villarreal (and Meulensteen has improved since November), Carney & Robyn Cowen called Lille v Chelsea (& Cowen struggled as expected, as she had very little professional experience calling matches off monitor, having worked mostly on site for BBC and Amazon UK.)

Aston Villa v Arsenal was a potential fit for Meulensteen and Carney, but that did NOT happen. They’ll have to wait.

Can someone explain to me why Arlo, “The Human Brain Leak” White feels compelled to launch into a hysterical diatribe the second a goal is scored?

Can he just shut up and let us enjoy the images and crowd noise?

Is there anyone on this board who likes him ruining those moments?

Does anyone at NBC force him to listen to tapes of his bombastic drivel?

I used to be that I didn’t mind him so much, but as time goes on he starts to grate more and more. His “arlogasm” over Ronaldo’s hat trick against Spurs almost caused me to smash the mute button through the remote. I was like: Why don’t you two just get a room?

Sports TV Guru, I agree with you, what a pleasure it was to have Christina Unkel on the set and I thought she added a lot to the show, so did Eni Aluko by the way. Yet another shrewd call by CBS. There is just so much of the cackle brothers Jamie and Micah that I can take. Their bro culture can be a bit much but Kate Abdo and Unkel were polished, professional and interesting yesterday.

A serious question for you, why would Rebecca who is an accomplished presenter and studio host and hosted the Olympics want to 1) work on her play by play commentary skills and 2) seek to do freelance play by play for powdunk college soccer or NWSL? Why would she seek to add play by play mid career to her roster of skills just so she can compete with a bunch of lesser known and unknown women already doing play by play? Surely these unknown female play by play types you mentioned and even add in the unappreciated female commentators who get assigned to Premier League games like Pien Meulensteen and Karen Carney get paid chump change to what Rebecca Lowe has commanded and would still command?

I’m trying to think of possible Rebecca analogs in the UK, maybe Gabby Logan, Alex Scott or Kelly Cates. All of their career paths have been a little different, they’ve made different choices, but all have been or still are presenters.

If you were Rebecca Lowe and dread the possibility of being locked into another unchanging 6 years as the studio face of the PL for NBC even after they backed the Brinks truck up to one of your glamorous houses…if you wanted to spend more time with your family, if you wanted to support your husbands coaching career more…why would you throw your hat in the play by play ring for next to nothing in compensation? You suspect she might want to go freelance, if so, wouldn’t the better and much more lucrative freelance model for her to follow be someone like Kelly Cates? Kelly has a few regular but non exclusive presenting gigs, some podcast and TV show responsibilities a la the Kelly and Wrighty Show and BBC 5 Live and yet was still free to come over to the US as a daytime studio host for ESPN during the last Euros? If you were the studio face of the Premier League in the US for the last 10 years and a studio host for how many Olympics in a row how could doing play by play in Pomona or off a TV screen in a closet somewhere compare to being the guiding light hosting the Olympics, or the World Cup or Euros in the studio? Wouldn’t you think Comcast would look to give her whatever opportunities she desired both here and in the UK if that’s what she wanted?

What I don’t get is the fixation on play by play. Is it just me?

Good lord, this “Lowe doing play-by-play” is all one person’s speculation with no basis in anything the person in question has done. Not to be content police here but what is the point of this discussion? This is like one of those trade rumors that starts in the fevered imagination of some journalist trying to get clicks but has no basis in reality.

Did anyone else watch the UEFA CL pre-match or post-match shows on Paramount+ on Tuesday March 15?

CBS spent $6000 in travel cost (business-class airfare and hotel) to fly rules analyst/former referee Christina Unkel into London so that she could work on set at IMG Studio instead of from her office (she is a lawyer) in Saratosa, Florida via video link.

Unkel was by far the star of the studio show. She led the analysis and discussion of refereeing decision with insight from someone who has kept up with the evolution of the video assistant referee (VAR) system.

Viewers won’t find anything similar during pre-match or post-match from NBC, ESPN, FOX, Televisa/Univision (TUDN), Telemundo, Sky Sports UK, BBC, ITV, etc.

    • Ra

      March 16, 2022 at 10:38 am

I didn’t watch it,but I usually find refereeing discussions a bore. There is no need if I am watching the game. I find it useful only when listening to radio or for sports that I am not very familiar with the rules.

    • greg

      March 16, 2022 at 11:49 am

I thought she was very good (not sure what the cost of getting her there matters to the discussion but whatever), explaining what the refs and assistants were likely thinking at any point, what the procedures are. I like that she wasn’t overly critical of the ref’s decisions that they reviewed. I find that unfair. But like with Clattenburg at his best (when he’s not as invested in polishing his own legacy & ego) those in-the-moment “here’s what the ref is likely thinking” explanations are illuminating. Reminds us that reffing a fast-moving sport is difficult, and that refs are human, trying to manage both the action and ultra-competitive players & coaches with huge egos and emotions.

Anyway, yeah..she was good. One of the better studio shows lately…less dumb schtick and jokes and better analysis.

    So I was wrong.

Rebecca Lowe will host this coming Saturday and Sunday. She will NOT call play-by-play.

Cara Banks (nee Robinson) from Golf Channel will host on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Banks was at Sky Sports UK before she came to the US to work for Golf Channel.

Banks is a Chelsea supporter. She is a mother of 2, a son and a daughter (who is 3 months old.)

    • Sports TV Guru

      March 15, 2022 at 7:37 pm

Rebecca Lowe told Richard Deitsch in 2018 that she was interested in switching to hosting women’s lifestyle entertainment programming.

As of today, she has less than 70,000 Instagram followers.

IMO that’s nowhere near enough for her to be able to carry her own personality-driven lifestyle entertainment TV program.

However, NBC might disagree with me and offer her a role in the entertainment division, based in Universal City, California (near Burbank Airport).

Also curious: why would Rebecca Lowe all of a sudden give permission to NBC Sports, i.e. Sam Flood, to assign 2 British female hosts from Golf Channel, Anna Whiteley and Cara Banks, to host Premier League on NBC after nearly 9 years?

Both Whiteley and Banks (who hosted Olympic association football in August 2021) are more than capable of taking over as Premier League hosts full time if NBC were to insist that a female must be the lead host/presenter.

As for play-by-play: there will still be 2 months left in the Premier League season for Flood to assign Rebecca Lowe to call a match, presumably as a Peacock Premium alternate stream so that only those viewers who want to listen to her call a match will choose to watch (the way Andrés Cantor’s English-language play-by-play of Premier League matches were offered in 2021.) I can understand why Flood didn’t want to take the risk of assigning her to call a match on USA Network.

      We’ll see…

I was thrown by the sound-alike host today too.

Rebecca Lowe is worth whatever she is looking for from NBC, and if they let her go it will tear the heart out of all the progress they’ve made building an audience for EPL in the US. Congrats on citizenship, Becks, and come back soon to stay!

      • Sports TV Guru

        March 14, 2022 at 6:11 pm

I am guessing, and only guessing, that Rebecca Lowe is looking to go freelance after her contract at NBC Sports expires in May 2022.

She can’t work on the 2026 Men’s World Cup, the 2023 Women’s World Cup, the UEFA Men’s Euro 2024 or the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 if she were to stay at NBC Sports full time.

But if she turns out to be good at play-by-play commentary (after working hard for nearly a year on her play-by-play skills), then going freelance will allow her to work for both NBC Sports (Olympics and possibly Premier League during the busy Festive Fixtures periods) and FOX Sports (men’s and women’s World Cups and Euro’s.)

        We’ll find out soon enough.

        • John

          March 15, 2022 at 2:24 pm

Thanks— I appreciate your explanation of the opportunities RL may have by moving on from an exclusive contract with NBC to more of a gig freelance thing. Maybe that’s how it all has to work these days for some, and I wish her well if it is what she wants.

But still, change can be disconcerting for viewers and risky for talent, I think(the examples that come to mind are more from the news side): Katie Couric leaving NBC’s Today for CBS and syndication (disastrous); Meghan Kelly leaving the vile Fox News only to be humiliated at NBC; Piers Morgan’s brief stint at CNN. I also hope Mark Chapman stays at BBC 5 Live even if he gets the Sky Soccer Saturday hosting slot.

Anyway, I like Arlo White very much but will miss him
In the gantries with Graham and Lee if he gets the studio job. If Rebecca goes freelance, will she be calling games from California?

          • Sports TV Guru

            March 16, 2022 at 1:40 pm

“If Rebecca goes freelance, will she be calling games from California?”

San Francisco-based PAC-12 Networks, which is partnered with Gravity Media US, has freelance play-by-play assignments that fit Rebecca Lowe:

            * PAC-12 Conference men’s and women’s college soccer, particularly at the University of California at Berkeley a.k.a. “Cal” and possibly at Stanford

            * PAC-12 women’s college volleyball, again particularly at Cal and possibly at Stanford

Lowe lives about 2 hours away by car from Cal, and about 3 hours away from Stanford.

Too bad Lowe didn’t move fast enough to learn play-by-play, as PAC-12 Networks now use student commentators to call the 1 women’s field hockey match each fall, the Cal vs Stanford game that is part of the America East Conference schedule (PAC-12 does NOT offer women’s field hockey so Cal and Stanford play as affiliates in the America East Conference, though PAC-12 Networks holds rights to the Cal vs Stanford game), for a talent fee of $0 for each student commentator.

These PAC-12 Network freelance PxP assignments that potentially fit Rebecca Lowe are the gigs that Kate Scott left behind when she moved from Oakland, California to Philadelphia to become the regional TV play-by-play voice of the NBA Philadelphia 76ers last October.

FOX Sports (US), in Los Angeles, would be the other company that has freelance play-by-play gigs that fit Rebecca Lowe, particularly UEFA Women’s Euro 2025. The 2023 Women’s World Cup might be out of reach for Lowe, as there are at least 6 women with PxP experience who are ahead of Lowe in terms of experience (Jenn Hildreth, Kate Scott, Lisa Byington, Poppy Miller, Jordan Angeli and Kacey White), and a 7th woman, Philadelphia-based Maura Sheridan, who quit her minor league baseball PxP gigs in order to switch to soccer in 2022. Sheridan will call NWSL and USL Championship matches off monitor at Vista Worldlink in Dania Beach, Florida this summer and fall.

  10. Break The Bias

    March 14, 2022 at 2:22 pm

CBS Sports / Paramount Plus US will go with all-female lineup for UEFA Champions League on Wednesday March 16 so Clive Tyldesley and Robert Green are willing to step aside.

All commentary will be off monitor (off tube) from IMG in Stockley Park.

Only the reporters will be on site.

Lille v Chelsea – Robyn Cowen & Karen Carney with Jules Breach reporting on site

Juventus v Villarreal – Pien Meulensteen & Lucy Ward with Jenny Chiu reporting on site

Studio: Kate Abdo, Kaylyn Kyle, Eni Aluko and Lianne Sanderson

Former referee Christina Unkel on standby from Saratosa, Florida

    Meulensteen is Dutch.

Chiu is from El Paso, Texas but represented Mexico (she has a Chinese father and a Mexican mother).

Kyle is a South Florida-based Canadian (Saskatoon, SK).

    Unkel is American (Sarasota, Florida).

    All others are English.

Waiting for announcements from Premier League Productions and NBC Sports so see what they have planned this weekend with only 4 PL matches all in their own windows (all on USA Network.)

The only thing I am 95% confident will happen is Rebecca Lowe returning after taking 2 weekends off to call play-by-play commentary for the first time. I am guessing Leicester v Brentford on March 20 at 10am EDT on USA Network because Paul Buckle was an apprentice at Brentford and made his 1st team debut at Brentford as a teenager.

Really? Taking issue with her traveling home to be with her family? The EPL schedule got bonked by COVID, one game at a time so the studio days were long, they were clearly shifting people in so the studio wasn’t too crowded. I’ve said a ton of times, I give NBA a total pass for how they handled things during the worst of the early stages of the pandemic. No matter what industry, the entire world was figuring things out on the fly and trying to stay healthy.

Just for that alone the rest of what you’re saying has no merit. Some bad & mean-spirited trolling.

    • Hire Arlo White as host/presenter

      March 14, 2022 at 10:50 pm

Robbie Earle lives in Los Angeles.

Don’t you think he too wanted to leave early on those 4 Sundays in 4th quarter of 2020 so that he can catch the last flight out of JFK and not have to stay in Connecticut or New York City an extra night?

Bottom line: we viewers work hard to earn our money to pay expensive pay TV subscriber fees to watch Premier League on NBC Sports.

Our subscriber fees were used to pay Rebecca Lowe’s big talent fee which enabled her to 1) buy a house on a country club golf course when she first decided to move from Connecticut to the Sacramento area after Paul Buckle was hired to coach Sacramento Republic FC, and 2) trade up to a mansion with a guest house in the foothills with a million-dollar view of Folsom Lake (according to photos she posted on her Instagram) after Coach Buckle departed Sacramento Republic FC “by mutual consent” (translation: he would have been fired otherwise.)

A true “leader” is supposed to be the last one to leave after the show ends, not the first one to leave during the middle of the show, no matter how long the hours were due to the extra match windows necessitated by the pandemic.

Lowe has been in the sports media industry for nearly 20 years. Only in the past 12 months has she shown that she has finally begun learning the true meaning of the word “leadership”.

      • SteveK

        March 15, 2022 at 9:36 am

“Hire Arlo White as host/presenter” your pettiness knows no bounds. Why are you continuing this obviously personal screed against Rebecca Lowe while conveniently hiding behind anonymity? I challenged you to link to the “smart marks” and the “influential viewers with blogs” who have turned against Rebecca Lowe and who agree with you that Rebecca is arrogant, selfish and lazy…why haven’t you? You had an embarrassing reply up on the site for a few minutes and then it was disappeared, what happened?

Is your only “smart mark” a person who writes for this website named Kartik who is at best an unreliable narrator and at worst himself biased when it comes to assessing NBC & the PL?

Richard Deitsch of the Athletic, however, is someone not posting anonymously and he can’t sing the praises of Rebecca Lowe enough, he considers her one of the “best sports studio hosts regardless of sport” and in his opinion “NBC’s best on-air asset for Premier League coverage.” Just before the PL decided to re-up with Comcast he wrote a long, in depth piece that was titled “The first rule of Premier League rights – sign Rebecca Lowe.” Maybe he hadn’t been watching the same sad steep decline of Rebecca Lowe that you were?

I’ve just re-read the potshots you took at her from the 4th quarter of 2020 and it is very weak sauce in the grand scheme of things. We were in the midst of little thing called a global pandemic, you may have read about it. Many in sport and the media deserved a little slack as all the rules changed and everyone had to adapt. It’s hardly a black mark to leave a little early to catch a flight to the West Coast but you do realize there are these things called agents and contracts and all of this is probably agreed upon in advance? Robbie lives in LA? Well maybe he needs a better agent and needs to bargain for the same kinds of perks Rebecca has? Or maybe he (and you) need to realize that being THE supreme studio host for the company, being the pretty face of the Premier League for many viewers and being a host for all of the Olympics means you are in a slightly different position than being one of a rotating panel of experts every other weekend?

And mispronouncing someone’s name 2 years ago? Are you dating Ana Jurka or her agent because you sure seem to be holding a serious grudge to dredge that oh so egregious gaffe up. Or are you by chance Kyle Martino, still bitter at being let go and envious of all these properties a currently employed multi-millionaire media personality is able to acquire?

“A true “leader” is supposed to be the last one to leave after the show ends, not the first one to leave during the middle of the show, no matter how long the hours were due to the extra match windows necessitated by the pandemic”

Now you’re trying to cut Rebecca down for not being enough of a leader? Really? You keep digging yourself a deeper and deeper hole. What ownership stake does on-air talent have when they work for a huge company? She’s talent with a contract, a presenter, a studio host who also happens to be a mother. She’s not getting any younger and is probably trying to figure out her next goals, what the next phase of her career will entail and her next contract should contain.

Yet you persist in nipping at her heels like a little chihuahua.

Taking the bait on your trolling, yes..but…

The analysts – two Robbies, Tim Howard, Martino, Higgenbotham…all had one weekend in three off. Lowe was there every week.

I don’t begrudge anyone buying the house they want with the money someone decided they were worth. And to me (and most others) she’s worth what they pay. I’ve enjoyed the NBC studio show immensely since they took over. It’s warm, human, generally informative, just the right touch of humor. I forgive them the hiccups during the worst of COVID because well, everything was out of kilter for a while. And if they were fine with her living in CA while working in CT, that’s between her & her employer. I don’t think it’s had a negative effect on the good quality of the studio show.

As for her husband, coaches get hired to get fired.

Whatever your deep-seated issue with her is (or your need to troll like this), you might want to see about some therapy.

You are being serious, so perhaps you can dig an even deeper whole for yourself.

Your observations from almost two years ago seem niggling at best. You seem to have a personal bias and agenda and if that’s the best you can come up with I’m afraid you are clutching at straws.

You do realize a studio host and play by play commentator are two completely different things, right?

You do realize after doing yeowoman’s work for the company as Olympic host one might be entitled to some vacation time and to squeeze in getting her American citizenship?

Link to the smart marks, these supposedly most influential viewers with blogs who have turned against her. Let’s see how low(e) you can go…

  13. Hire Arlo White as host/presenter

    March 13, 2022 at 11:25 am

“Rebecca Lowe is a presenter rock star with deep knowledge, grace, humor and elegance and is in the middle of her prime…”

    What have you been watching?

The current host WAS the person you described circa 2013-2018.

By late 2020, the current host came across as someone who is ARROGANT, SELFISH, and at times LAZY.

    For the record:

The current host left EARLY 4 times during the 4th quarter of 2020 in order to catch the last outbound flight to Chicago on Sunday in order to connect to a flight to Sacramento, leaving the pundits to do the studio show by themselves during the 4th match window.

The current host mispronounced the name of Telemundo Deportes host Ana Jurka TWICE in 4th quarter of 2019, both times when Jurka was NEXT TO HER. The 1st time was bad enough, the 2nd time was worse because they were doing a joint open for both NBCSN and Telemundo.

Both The Gaffer and Kartik complained about her in multiple podcasts during the 4th quarter of 2020.

I stand by my observation: the current host is way past her expiration date.

However, if she were to return after taking 2 weekends off and she were to prove that she can be good as a play-by-play commentator during the remainder of her contract (which has 2 months left), then many of past transgressions can be forgiven.

As things stand, she has done enough damage to herself to turn the “smart marks”, the most influential viewers with blogs, against her.

  14. SteveK

    March 13, 2022 at 10:52 am

“The current lead host is way past her expiration date.”

    Troll elsewhere, please.

This may be the stupidest take I have ever read on this site and that means you are really plumbing the depths. Rebecca Lowe is a presenter rock star with deep knowledge, grace, humor and elegance and is in the middle of her prime, whatever that is. Try Al Michaels for someone way past his expiration date.

Arlo would be a more than adequate studio host if Lowe decided to do something else when her current contract expires, but her loss would be keenly felt by American PL fans.

NBC/USA and their coverage of the Premier League is absolutely fantastic with Pre-game and post-game coverage. Serie A is also doing a fantastic job as well on Paramount Plus, but they need to replicate what these broadcasters are doing and have more matches available on live tv. Excellent job overall well done. The Man U-Spurs game was entertaining just like opening up a bottle of champagne. Simply magical.

Ahh another morning spent searching around from app to app like a clown because NBC is a joke of an organisation. At least we got a pregame today, ridiculous they blackout the PLTV channel. Good shout @Sports TV Guru

    Man United v Spurs… 82nd minute.

Something important happens and Arlo White absolutely wrecks the moment with his verbal diarrhea.

It’s TV, Arlo… not radio, you stupid lame ass.

Does anyone at NBC realize what a piece of excrement this guy is?

    • Hire Arlo White as host/presenter

      March 13, 2022 at 4:51 am

NBC Sports Group execs like “Uncle” Arlo White, who is now the heavy favo(u)rite to take over as host/presenter of Premier League starting August 2022.

The current lead host is way past her expiration date. However, NBC can use her as a freelance (main) play-by-play commentator if she were good at her new role. We will find out very soon whether that is the case.

        Perfect world for me?

I’d hate to see RL go, but if it gets AW in the studio, I’d make the trade…

PxP is far more important to me than a studio host.
Beside, studio hosts are by definition “talkers”. And AW is the very definition of a “talking head”.

And what if…… what if that change could allow Jon Champion to become the #1 PXP guy?
His agreement with ESPN is probably up for renewal along with their MLS agreement. So, now would be the time for NBC to make the approach.

        Hey, I can dream, can’t I?

Short of any of that, Peacock should allow us the choice of the world audio feed.

I expect ESPN (US) to renew the MLS “A” package and retain Jon Champion, who obviously wants to stay in the US for at least 5 years in order to apply for US Citizenship.

About the ONLY main PxP commentator that NBC would want to pursue is Peter Drury because he is unique and different from all the other male PxP commentators (who are essentially interchangeable.)

However, NBC can get Drury for FREE by taking the “world feed” twice each match day.

Also, Drury enjoys his current arrangement as a freelancer, as he can work for CBS on Tuesdays, BT on Wednesday and Thursdays, Amazon for 2 PL match days each year, and world feeds (both Premier League Productions/IMG and Gravity Media for the EFL Cup).

@Sports TV Guru – FYI – EFL international distribution is not handled by Gravity Media.

I understand that Pitch International handles EFL international distribution, but I believe Gravity Media UK handles EFL world feed production under contract with Pitch Int’l.

Many thousands of primarily fans and Rebecca Lowe fans wholeheartedly disagree with your assessment. She was a big part of why Premier League became popular in the US and continues to be a fan favorite. And now she’s missing and no one has the guts to say why.

          1. Rebecca Lowe hosted daytime tape-delayed Winter Olympics coverage on NBC over-the-air broadcast for 17 straight days on February 4-20, and hosted Premier League on February 25-27 while Ahmed Fareed got his week off after hosting 17 days straight as well.

          2. Lowe got her weekend off from hosting Premier League on March 5-6.

          3. I am guessing NBC Sports EP Sam Flood gave Lowe a 2nd consecutive weekend off, March 12-14, after she asked for and was granted her 1st play-by-play commentary assignment, presumably this coming Sunday March 20. Because Ahmed Fareed was hosting Paralympics on March 3-13, Flood had to assign Paul Burmeister to host Premier League on March 12-13 and had to borrow Anna Whiteley from the Golf Channel to host Premier League on March 14.

Lowe had never given Food permission to assign another female to fill in for her as host of the Premier League during the 9 years she has been at NBC Sports until Whiteley hosted on March 14.

Rebecca Lowe and Paul Buckle were sworn in as US Citizens in a ceremony at the California State Capitol Building in Sacramento on March 9. A typical citizenship ceremony takes less than 2 hours. Presumably they took and passed their oral exams at the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (CIS) office in Sacramento several months ago.

NBC Sports has changed its programming for Sunday:

    1. Premier League Mornings pre-match show from Stamford on Peacock TV Premium at 9am EDT/6am PDT. That means PLTV MatchDay Live will be blacked out on Peacock TV Free.

    2. Arlo White, Lee Dixon and Graeme Le Saux have been re-assigned to Chelsea-Newcastle.

    3. Arsenal-Leicester will have world feed commentators: Jim Proudfoot and Matt Holland

Right, I get why it’s not on on USA. But why not anything on Peacock?

The Premier League TV (PLTV) streaming channel on Peacock TV FREE will have the 1-hour Matchday Live pre-match show on Sunday March 13 at 9am EDT/6am PDT.

The show is produced by Premier League Productions at IMG Studio in Stockley Park.

Depending on which pundits are on the panel, viewers might learn more watching PLTV Matchday Live than NBC’s Premier League Mornings.

PLTV Matchday Live will often have “blockbuster” panel line-ups with BIG NAMES who are off duty from their UK domestic TV assignments such as Michael Owen, Alan Shearer and Ian Wright.

So no pre-match show on Sunday for the 7am kick-offs? Straight in? I can only hope/guess it’s because they’re stretched thin in production talent between para-Olympics & TPC. But still…not even 30 minutes?

No pre-match show on Sunday March 13 due to Winter Paralympics closing ceremony at 8am EDT/5am PDT (8pm Beijing Time)
