Although Carlo Ancelotti has one more year of contract ahead, something that he is in charge of emphasizing every time he is consulted, throughout the season his continuity in Real Madrid beyond the present course has been questioned. “I should not talk about my future, because the contract is very clear, he said last time.

More than once, playing with the possibility of that exit, the name of the Italian coach sounded as a candidate to assume in front of different selections around the world, being especially followed by Brazil National Team, which recently dismissed Dorival Júnior.

But Ancelotti does not seem to be a lover of that type of work and made clear his reasons in an interview granted to the Swiss chain RSI, in which he recalled the offer he received from the Italian National Team before taking over Real Madrid.

“I said no because I did not feel like it. I really like being on the field daily preparing the training sessions, and the selection seemed to me a part-time job that would make me lose a little the passion,” said the coach who began his second cycle at the White House in 2021 and conquered from there 11 titles, including two Champions League.

Ancelotti’s Liverpool dream

Carlo Ancelotti also revealed that for many years he had dreamed of managing Liverpool in the Premier League, but that finally his time at Everton, the classic rival, made him modify his sympathies and put aside that desire.
