Arsenal travel to their fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur to contest the 175th edition of the North London derby in Saturday’s early kick-off.
Both sides come into this match in good form with the Gunners hammering Aston Villa 5-0 in their last match, while Spurs cruised to a 3-0 victory away to West Bromwich Albion.
As things stand, Arsenal are a place and two points above their London rivals so there’s plenty to play for as the race for the UEFA Champions League spots heats up.
Team news
The big news for Arsenal is the absence of star man Alexis Sanchez after the Chilean was ruled out with a hamstring injury.
Other players missing in action include Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Debuchy and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all of whom remain sidelined with various injuries. Danny Welbeck, however, is set to return after recovering from a thigh problem.
For the home side, Mauricio Pochettino has a fully fit squad to select fro with the exception of Emmanuel Adebayor, who has been axed from the 18-man contingent to face Arsenal after Chairman Daniel Levy blocked his move to West Ham United on transfer deadline day.
In other news, Nacer Chadli is in contention for a starting berth following a family bereavement, while Nabil Bentaleb is back after his country Algeria were eliminated from the African Nations Cup.
