Premier League Saturday: Feb. 26, 2011

Christopher Harris

One of the reasons why I love watching soccer matches on Saturdays is the sheer quantity of them stretched across six continuous hours. And that’s just the Premier League.

Today will be quite different because there are five Premier League games starting at the same time (10am ET/3pm BST) and no early or late match. The matches feature four games that will be tough battles between sides that match up well against each other: Aston Villa versus Blackburn, Everton against Sunderland, Newcastle versus Bolton and Wolves against Blackpool. And then there’s Wigan against Manchester United, which is probably going to be a more one-sided affair. But as we saw against Liverpool, Wigan is not going to sit back and take it. They’ll try to deliver a knockout punch against a Big Four team too.

By now, you probably know the drill. Before, during or after the matches, feel free to use the comments section below as a thread to post your questions, rants or observations.

And for those of you craving more soccer than the 2-hour spread of time when you can choose between 5 Premier League matches at once at 10am ET, you can also watch Swansea versus Leeds (7:45am ET on Fox Soccer Plus and FoxSoccer.tv), the first 30 minutes of Schalke versus Nuremberg (9:30am ET on ESPN3.com), Atletico Madrid against Sevilla (Noon ET on GolTV), Mallorca against Barcelona (2pm ET on ESPN3.com), Juventus against Bologna (2:45pm ET on Fox Soccer Channel) and many of the 10am Premier League matches on delay during Saturday afternoon on Fox Soccer Channel.
