Relegation is not for the faint of heart. It can be a cruel mistress. But, for the neutral, it’s a fascinating part of the world’s most beautiful sport that adds so much suspense in the final weeks of a season.
Not surprisingly, NBC Sports Group has latched on to the interest in the race to avoid relegation by releasing a brand-new commercial to promote its coverage.
As is customary from NBC Sports, they’ve put together a very creative video. In this one, titled ‘The Butcher, they use a British butcher to demonstrate the League’s relegation system.
The butcher in the spot, 54-year old Gary Chadwick, is not an actor – he owns and runs Chadwicks Butchers on London’s Balham High Road. Chadwicks Butchers has been in business for the past 17 years. In the ad, Chadwick explains and demonstrates how only the finest quality “meat” is selected for the Premier League.
