Mexico Goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa Finalizing Switch To Malaga

Mexico international goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has flown to Spain to finalize a move to Malaga.

Ochoa was one of the standout performers during this summer’s World Cup in Brazil. He made countless game saving stops during Mexico’s tournament run with his most notable performance perhaps taking place in a 0-0 group stage match against the host nation, Brazil.

Since that time, the 29-year-old has turned down a number of lucrative offers from teams in France and been approached by numerous European clubs.

‘Memo’ has played for the French Ligue 1 side Ajaccio for the past three seasons, but following the club’s relegation this season, he was allowed to leave on a free transfer.

After weeks of negotiations, Ochoa has flown to Malaga to complete his medical and sign a new contract with Los Boquerones.

Details of the contract have not been disclosed. But expect an announcement of this signing within the next 24 hours. Followed by a player presentation at La Rosaleda in Malaga.
