Defense wins championships, or so the old adage goes. But in the case of the United States, defense in the early stages of the tournament was the difference in getting them into the final. And once the final happened, defense went out the window and offense was the name of the game.

The US Women’s National Team that played in the Women’s World Cup final was the one we were expecting to see throughout this tournament — the way they attacked and had a killer touch. However, maybe they were saving themselves for the final, as we they went on the journey throughout this competition.

At the end of the day, the United States were crowed World Cup champions for the third time in its history.
