Martin O’Neill is under pressure to deliver results, which makes today’s home match against Reading a must-win for the Black Cats. A loss for Sunderland could see them drop to second from bottom.
With the pressure on, O’Neill has come out fighting. The Northern Irishman says that he’s the best man for the job and that no one else can do a better job. Plus he’s asked Sunderland fans to judge him at the end of the season, not now. Depending on what O’Neill does today, he may or may not be there at the end of the season to be judged.
