In the United States, you can watch the World Cup without using FOX Sports. FOX took over the U.S. broadcasting rights to the World Cup in 2018. It holds them through the 2026 World Cup.

While that may seem like the only way for Americans to watch, that is not the case. The interconnectivity of the world, combined with the multinational nature of the United States in particular, provides many options for those interested.

FOX is certainly a reliable option. All 64 games are available on either FOX or FS1. However, here are other ways to watch the World Cup without FOX Sports.

Watch the World Cup without FOX Sports

1. Peacock Premium

Peacock does much more than just broadcast four or five Premier League games each weekend. In fact, all 64 games at the World Cup are available on Peacock. NBC’s paid-streaming service is the home for Telemundo and Universo. Those two Spanish channels are part of Peacock’s World Cup coverage, as is shoulder and studio coverage between games.

The best thing about using Peacock Premium is the affordability. In this scenario, users can subscribe to Peacock for $4.99 per month. That provides access to all every game of the World Cup. Granted, they are not English-language broadcasts. However, the games themselves are the most important things.

2. Telemundo and universo

For the Spanish-language rights in the United States, Telemundo and Universo hold the rights. Many streaming, cable and satellite providers carry both of these channels. Therefore, you can watch all of the games in Spanish if these channels are part of your TV plans.

Plus, Telemundo is one of the OTA channels, where all you need is an antenna for your TV. Once again, this is the Spanish-language broadcast. Still, it provides access to a majority of the games.

Telemundo and Universo are both available via fuboTV.

3. Using a VPN

In the United Kingdom, ITV and BBC have the broadcast rights to the World Cup. One method to watch the World Cup without FOX Sports is to virtually put yourself over there.

A virtual private network, or VPN, is something that you can get to unblock websites and streaming services. From there, you can watch broadcasts from other countries. Otherwise, broadcast rights are specific to certain providers. For example, fans in the United States cannot watch Sky Sports Premier League highlights because NBC holds those rights.

In England, both BBC iPlayer and ITV Hub are streaming the World Cup. You’ll need a VPN such as Express VPN to unblock the sites. It’s easy to use. Plus, you can use the VPN to unblock TV broadcasters from around the world (see foot of this article to see the official World Cup broadcasters).

4. Mute Spanish TV and sync-up radio

This combines a couple of the aforementioned ways to watch the World Cup without FOX Sports. If you are using Telemundo, whether that be through Peacock, a TV subscription or an antenna, you can mute the audio. Then, using a VPN, you can listen to a radio broadcast streamed live from the United Kingdom. We recommend BBC Radio 5 Live, which can be unblocked with a VPN.
