This past weekend, Tottenham midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson left the club’s pre-season training camp in Seattle and this morning was reportedly having a medical at Swansea City ahead of a proposed £10million ($17 million) move.

Speculation is that the 24-year-old is part of a deal that will see Swansea left-back Ben Davies go the opposite way to North London.

Tottenham had proposed a straight cash deal for the Swansea defender, but the Welsh club pushed to have Sigurdsson return to the side where he had so much success while on loan in the second half of 2011-12.

The Icelandic international made eighteen appearances and scored seven times for Swansea City while on loan from Hoffenheim. He became the first Icelander to win the Premier League Player of the Month when he was presented with the award in March 2012.

After flirting with the idea of a permanent deal with Swansea, Sigurdsson ultimately moved to Spurs in July 2012 after Brendan Rodgers left the Welsh club for Liverpool.

In other clubs news, a deal for Swans goalkeeper Michel Vorm is also rumored to be on the verge of happening within the next 24 hours with the player also arriving at White Hart Lane.

Vorm’s future was put into doubt ever since the club sign Lukasz Fabianski from Arsenal of a free transfer in May. Fabianski has agreed to a four-year contract and has stated to the press that he was joining Swans to play “first-team football”.

But more positive news for the club is that Ecuadorian international Jefferson Montero, who currently plays for Monarcas Morelia of Mexico, is expected to complete a £4 million move to Swansea in the coming days.
