FOX Sports scored its biggest viewing audience ever for a UEFA Champions League game on FOX Sports 1 when an average viewing audience of 779,000 tuned in to watch Manchester City versus Barcelona match on Tuesday from 2:30pm-5pm ET.

The Manchester City 1-2 Barcelona game was the fifth most-watched sports event on cable on Tuesday, and achieved a 0.5 rating among adults 18-49.

Tuesday’s number is impressive given that it beat the previous record for a UEFA Champions League game Round of 16 on FOX Sports 1 from last week when 501,000 watched PSG vs Chelsea.

When the 779,000 number for Manchester City-Barcelona is taken into context with last season, it’s even more impressive considering that the 2014 UEFA Champions League semi-final between Atletico Madrid and Chelsea on April 30 attracted 627,000 viewers on FOX Sports 1.

The average TV viewing audience for Arsenal against Monaco on Wednesday was 322,000.
