Aston Villa has announced the second match of its North American tour. Villa is scheduled to play against Columbus Crew in a friendly on Saturday, July 28 at the Columbus Crew stadium. Since the match will be on a Saturday night, it’s likely that it may be televised.
The match may be the closest that Aston Villa will get to a friendly near Randy Lerner’s Cleveland Browns stadium. It’s 143 miles from Columbus to Cleveland.
In previous seasons, Columbus has played Fulham and Everton in friendlies.
Earlier this week, Martin O’Neill’s side announced a friendly against Toronto FC scheduled for Wednesday, July 25 at the BMO Field.

So far, the Aston Villa v Columbus match is the fourth friendly involving a Premiership club to be announced in North America. In the other two matches, Chelsea will play Suwon Bluewings on July 17 and LA Galaxy on July 21 in Los Angeles.
