When Was The Last Time Your Premier League Club Won A Major Trophy?

But before I do that, I wanted to mention what qualifies as a “major trophy.” That would be either the Premier League title, the FA Cup, League Cup or a major European honor such as the Champions League, European Cup, UEFA Cup (aka Europa League) and European Cup Winner’s Cup. That does not include the UEFA Intertoto Cup (sorry Fulham supporters).

The list also doesn’t include trophies such as winning League One, League Two or the Championship.

So with all of the disclaimers out of the way, here’s the list of when your favorite Premier League last won a major trophy:

  • Arsenal: 2005 FA Cup,
  • Aston Villa: 1996 League Cup,
  • Birmingham City: 2011 League Cup,
  • Blackburn Rovers: 2002 League Cup,
  • Blackpool: 1953 FA Cup,
  • Bolton Wanderers: 1958 FA Cup,
  • Chelsea: 2010 FA Cup,
  • Everton: 1995 FA Cup,
  • Fulham: None.
  • Liverpool: 2006 FA Cup,
  • Manchester City: 1976 League Cup,
  • Manchester United: 2010 League Cup,
  • Newcastle United: 1955 FA Cup,
  • Stoke City: 1972 League Cup,
  • Sunderland: 1973 FA Cup,
  • Tottenham Hotspur: 2008 League Cup,
  • West Bromwich Albion: 1968 FA Cup,
  • West Ham United: 1980 FA Cup,
  • Wigan Athletic: None.
  • Wolverhampton Wanderers: 1980 League Cup.

As you can see, Fulham and Wigan are the odd ones out. And if you scan through the rest of the other teams, you can see how the League Cup provides many teams with their best chance of picking up a major trophy.
