Watch the '101 Great Goals' Video Featuring the Best Goals From England Of The 1960s-80s [VIDEO]

Before there was the Internet, YouTube and 24/7 TV sports networks, VHS tapes were a rare commodity for soccer fans, who could use them to watch soccer highlights over and over again. There was one video collection of goals that was one of the most popular — 101 Great Goals.

The 65-minute videotape was released in 1987, and featured highlights of goals from the golden generation of English football — the 1960s through the 1980s. 101 Great Goals includes so many legendary goals by legendary players including Glenn Hoddle (Tottenham against Watford), Justin Fashanu (Norwich vs Liverpool), Liam Brady (Arsenal against Spurs), Bobby Charlton (Manchester United), as well as goals from Cyrille Regis (West Brom), John Toshack (Liverpool), Emlyn Hughes (Liverpool), George Graham (Arsenal), Alan Sunderland (Arsenal), Ian Rush (Liverpool) and many many more.

Plus, the video features legendary English commentators including Tony Gubba, John Motson, Barry Davies, David Coleman and others.

I remember ordering the videotape via mail order in the late 80s, as a Christmas present. If I remember correctly, it cost $29.95. My cousin and I must have watched the tape literally a hundred times. We loved it. The video was followed by 502 Great Goals, but the quantity of goals didn’t beat the quality of 101 Great Goals.

This is a must-see for anyone interested in English soccer history.
