A somewhat disappointing Copa America for the United States comes to end tonight against Colombia. Expectations were low for the Americans heading into this tounrment. The US brought a side without several first-choice players like Landon Donovan, Demarcus Beasley, Carlos Bocanegra, Tim Howard, and Clint Dempsey to play against two of the most powerful teams in South America and Colombia, a very respectable side in their own right.
This game is virtually a friendly. One last chance to take a look at young, inexperienced players against top-notch competition (which is what I feel is the most important thing to take from this tournement) and chance to leave Venezuela with a victory. Here’s the lineup I hope to see….
