With the CONCACAF Gold Cup already in progress, the competition will begin to heat up this week as the US Men’s National Team, Jamaica and Panama play their first games, as well as seeing the highly-anticipated game on Wednesday between Mexico and Canada.
We’ve been able to get the list of commentators for the games on Univision Deportes for the Group Stage (see below). According to Univision Deportes, they’ll deliver nearly 200 hours of live Gold Cup coverage on its linear networks throughout the tournament, with members of its talent on site at all 17 tournament venues across the U.S., Costa Rica and Jamaica. Univision Deportes also promises the use of augmented reality to enhance the soccer-viewing experience whereby fans can expect “cutting-edge productions featuring stunning visuals and graphics, both in the studio and live at select matches.”
Prior to the semifinal round, each day of competition will feature two matches. Live Gold Cup coverage will begin on UDN up to three hours prior to the first match with Misión Copa Oro, offering fans a chance to catch up on key storylines and results from earlier in the tournament, and Fútbol Central, providing fans with pre-game coverage, featuring access to team arrivals, warm-ups, exclusive interviews, up-to-the-minute information, lineup breakdowns and more. Fútbol Central will also deliver highlights and insight between matches. Upon the conclusion of each day’s action, Univision Deportes favorites Contacto Deportivo and Línea de 4 will recap key events and break down the pivotal plays of the day.
Featuring both in-house experts and well-known guests with Gold Cup experience of their own, Univision Deportes’ Gold Cup coverage team will deliver best-in-class insight and analysis from Gold Cup venues and Univision Deportes headquarters in Miami. Gold Cup legends Carlos Pavón (Honduras), Blas Pérez (Panama) and Paulo Wanchope (Costa Rica) are among the special guest analysts joining Univision Deportes’ broadcast team. Tournament telecasts will feature the legendary voices of play-by-play announcers Enrique Bermudez, Pablo Ramírez and Luis Omar Tapia.
