Porteous was acquired from Watford, also of the English Championship, and joins LAFC after the club purchased his Discovery Priority Rights from Toronto FC in exchange for $100,000 in 2025 General Allocation Money (GAM).
Porteous is known for his tough tackling, leadership at the back, and ability to read the game. LAFC sees him as a crucial piece to reinforce a defense that has seen some inconsistency this season, especially with injuries to key starters.
