Fantasy soccer games have proven to be very popular over the years. The chance to pick and manage dream teams and score points has become a hobby and passion amongst millions of people.
As a result of the growth of the Internet, there has been an increase in the popularity of fantasy soccer games due to the fact that there are a good number of fantasy football providers on the web.
Draft11.com is one of them, introducing a new form of fantasy soccer. It’s a game that gives you the opportunity to win cash prizes over a single gameday instead of waiting until the end of an entire season or month.
Plus with Draft11.com, you have a number of top contests to choose from including the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, and UEFA Champions League amongst others.
With Draft11.com, there are free and paid games to enter. After registering, you select the contest you want to play in, pick your team of 11 players and then provide an entry fee (if applicable) and prize of your liking. In addition, you can enter as many games as you like to increase your chances of winning cash.
How does it work?
It’s easy. Just go to Draft11.com, click on the sign up button in the top right corner (see screenshot below).
After you’ve clicked on the ‘Join Now’ button, you can sign up with your e-mail address and associated information, or you can connect via your Facebook or Twitter social media account (see below).
After you’ve signed up (which takes less than 30 seconds), you’ll see the main dashboard of the game (see screenshot below) with a listing of all of the contests available. You can click on any of the headings to sort the contests by Contest, Entries (number of people participating in the game), Entry Fee, Prizes (offered) and Start Date.
You can sort by other options too by clicking on the league-specific contests listed on the left of the screen. Or you can click on the featured games highlighted at the top of the page.
Also, you can even create your own contest to play against your friends or public by clicking on the blue ‘Create Contest’ button on the left.
Conveniently, next to the blue button, is a countdown clock showing when the next contest will start.
Now, comes the fun part – selecting the contest you want to enter, and picking the 11 players for your team.
First, find a contest you want to enter. When you find one, click on the blue ‘Enter >’ button on the right.
On the next screen (see screenshot below), here’s where you’ll select your 11 players. Note that there are no subs and you have a salary cap of $100,000, so you’ll want to maximize the “budget” you have available to pick the best players.
A few notes about this screen. First, at the top, you’ll see helpful links “How it works” and “Rules & Scoring,” which both go into more detail about how you be best equipped to try to score as many points as possible. Plus, there’s a blue ‘View more contest details’ to the right of the image of the field for more information.
Once you’ve better understood the points system (which is easy to understand, but different than other games), it’s time to pick your team. To the right of the field is where you can select the players you want, or sort through the options available to you (sort by player name, position, salary or average points). The interface will be very familiar to you if you’ve played other fantasy games. And one major difference is that you can select as many players you want from a specific team, so you don’t have to worry about being restricted from selecting more than 3 players from Real Madrid, for example.
As you select your players, they’ll be added to the pitch image to the left. Pay attention to the Salary Cap figure above the pitch to make sure you don’t go over budget.
Once you’ve selected your team that you believe can accrue the most points for a particular matchday, be sure to click on the star button to select a captain as he gets double the amount of points.
After you’ve created your team, the most important thing to remember is to click on the green ‘Enter’ button in the bottom right corner in order to enter your team into the contest.
After you’ve entered your team, and if you like the look of your team, you can click the ‘Save’ button near the bottom of the page so you can use the same players for future contests. Or, if you’ve played the game before and you want to load a previously saved team, you can load your team by selecting from the ‘Select your team’ drop-down option, and then clicking the greyed-out ‘Apply your team’ button.
Once it’s gametime, you can watch the results in real-time via the Lobby (see link circled in red in screenshot below).
In the Lobby, Draft11.com provides live updates where you get to track the performance of your players in real time as they gather points for a variety of actions such as scoring goals, making interceptions, clearances, passing, saves etc as specified in the unique scoring system.
What’s more, you can access Draft11.com via your smartphone, tablet or computer and make edits to your dream team or monitor the performances of your side wherever you may be.
So you can head over to Draft11.com right now and register for free for the opportunity to set the fantasy soccer world ablaze and win some cash in the process.
