With a goal from Gonzalo García, Real Madrid edged past Juventus 1–0 in the Round of 16, securing their place in the next stage of the FIFA Club World Cup. However, as the match neared its end, it was Nico González and Vinícius Jr. who drew the spotlight with a heated altercation.

In the 88th minute, as Real Madrid was making a substitution while holding onto the lead, the broadcast cameras caught a tense exchange of words between the two forwards on the pitch.

While it was unclear what exactly was said, the referee—caught right between them—quickly intervened to separate both players.

Meanwhile, teammates from both sides rushed in to try to diffuse the situation and figure out what had happened.

Who Will Face Real Madrid in the Club World Cup Quarterfinals?

Real Madrid’s next opponent in the FIFA Club World Cup quarterfinals will be determined by the outcome of Rayados de Monterrey vs. Borussia Dortmund, which kicks off Tuesday at 9 PM ET.
