Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has come out strong in the press with his line that the club will fight to keep Robin van Persie. It’s a losing battle, though. The player hasn’t been included in the tour of the Far East, and if the right offer comes along, I’m sure Arsenal will take the cash — whether it’s from Manchester City, Manchester United or Juventus. The harsh reality is that Arsenal has become a feeder club to Manchester City, and this could be another in a long line of their stars moving away from Emirates Stadium in the summer. Wenger may say he’s fighting to keep Robin van Persie, but maybe he’s just trying to get clubs to enter into a bidding war for the star striker?
