AZ Alkmaar have confirmed that they’ve reached an agreement with Sunderland to allow Jozy Altidore to join the Wearside club.
Altidore is set for a medical in Sunderland on Monday. If he passes and agrees personal terms, American international Jozy Altidore will be the latest American to play in the English Premier League after a previous run at Hull City.
During his two years at AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands, American striker Altidore scored 38 times in 67 league games.
Sunderland have signed signed six footballers this summer — Modibo Diakite, Valentin Roberge, Cabral, Duncan Watmore, David Moberg Karlsson and Vito Mannone. If Altidore signs for the Black Cats, Sunderland will be the busiest Premier League team this summer with seven signings.
