Burnley full-back Kieran Trippier appears close to joining Tottenham after Clarets manager Sean Dyche confirmed the transfer was an "active deal".

The 24-year-old right-back has been linked with a switch to Mauricio Pochettino's men following Burnley's relegation out of the Barclays Premier League last season.

The Clarets have already lost 11-goal striker Danny Ings to Liverpool and now Trippier, who was an ever-present for Dyche's side in the top flight and contributed four assists, could also follow him out of Turf Moor.

Dyche addressed the speculation regarding the former Manchester City trainee at the unveiling of the club's new shirt on Wednesday and confirmed Spurs were keen on the defender.
