The Uruguayan newspaper El Telegrafo is reporting that the agent of Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani has confirmed that both Liverpool and Arsenal have tabled bids for the Uruguay international.

Cavani’s agent, Claudio Annelluci, expressed that even though his client is happy with the French champions, he is mulling over the offers from the Premier League clubs.

“There was much interest in the player during the past six months. I can confirm that Cavani has heard proposals from Liverpool and Arsenal,” Annelluci said.

“He would love to play in England, but has not yet made a final decision. He is not interested in money and fame, he just wants to be happy playing football.”

PSG have reportedly slapped a £53 million fee on the player. But that appears not to be an issue for the Brendan Rodgers or Arsene Wenger.

Liverpool are still looking for a striking option following the departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona. And Arsenal appear to be looking for an upgrade at the forward position since Olivier Giroud is the club’s best scoring option.

If the Ligue 1 side were able to offload Cavani, it could re-open the door to their negotiations with Real Madrid regarding their unsettled winger, Angel Di Maria.
