Queens Park Rangers has announced that Mauricio Isla has completed his medical at Loftus Road, received his work permit/governing body endorsement from the Football Association and will be joining the newly-promoted Premier League side on a season-long loan from Italian champions, Juventus.

The defender is now back in Italy finalizing his work visa.

Isla will be the fourth signing of the summer for QPR manager Harry Redknapp, following the arrivals of Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United), Steven Caulker and Jordon Mutch (both from Cardiff City).

Redknapp said: “He’s a top player and we’re delighted to have him here. He showed his quality in the World Cup for Chile and it’s a great loan signing for us.”

The Chile international started all four of his country’s matches during this summer’s World Cup and has 51 caps in his career.

Isla commented on his signing via his Twitter account: “I am very happy to be here – this is the start off an exciting new adventure for me.”
