Jakub Blaszczykowski has completed a move to Fiorentina from Borussia Dortmund having earlier announced his departure from the Bundesliga club.

The Polish midfielder on Monday posted a picture on his Facebook page from a plane flying over Dortmund, with the word ‘Thanks!’

The picture was likely to have been taken as the 29-year-old flew to Florence to undergo a medical. He was later pictured on Fiorentina’s official Instagram account holding up a purple shirt.

Blaszczykowski’s move to the Viola brings to an end his eight years with the Westphalians, who he joined from Wisla Krakow in 2007.

His arrival paved the way for Joaquin to complete his move back to Real Betis.

The midfielder had requested a move back to the club where he started his career and Betis pushed through a deal late on Monday night, re-signing the former Spain international on a three-year contract.
