This weekend’s slate of games just misses out on perhaps the most-anticipated match of the season, Arsenal hosting Manchester City. That is a midweek game on Wednesday, Feb. 15. Still, this weekend brings about some major clashes. Many of those come at the bottom of the table, as the relegation battle involves six teams, at least.

Look no farther than Southampton hosting Wolverhampton Wanderers. Wolves has seven points in its last four games. Not a screaming record, but a strong one for a side that was 19th not long ago. Wolves now sits in 15th while the Saints of Southampton remain rooted at the bottom. Southampton is desperate for points, two behind Bournemouth and four from safety.

Another game to focus on is Leeds hosting Manchester United. The two played out a thrilling 2-2 draw, with the Whites getting a much needed point at Old Trafford. Having sacked Jesse Marsch, the club now hunts just its fifth win on the season against one of the more in form teams in the league.

Capping off the weekend’s action is the Merseyside Derby between Everton and Liverpool. While there is still 11 points of separation between the two, this is a pivotal game for both. Liverpool is massively behind the pace when it comes to looking for a Champions League spot. Everton, coming off a shock win over league leaders Arsenal, is still in the drop zone. A win on Monday would be massive for a number of reasons.
