Tottenham have agreed a deal with Valencia to sign Spanish striker Roberto Soldado. All that remains for the transfer to be finalized is for Soldado to pass a medical.
Tottenham reportedly paid Valencia £26million to sign Roberto Soldado.
According to Tottenham’s club website, “The striker netted 80 times in 146 appearances during his time at the Mestalla who he joined from Getafe in 2010, after impressing with a tally of 29 goals in 60 league appearances.
“The 28-year-old began his career at Real Madrid where he scored 63 goals in 120 league appearances for the B side, Real Madrid Castilla, also featuring on 16 occasions for the First Team either side of a loan move to Osasuna in season 2006-7 when he scored 11 goals in 30 appearances before moving to Getafe in 2008.”
Soldado is Tottenham’s third major transfer of the season after signing midfielder Paulinho and winger Nacer Chadli this summer.
Today’s signing of Soldado is spectacular news for Tottenham Hotspur fans as they’ve finally gotten their much sought-after striker.
For Valencia, meanwhile, the loss of Soldado will help their club coffers but will come as a big blow as they’ve now lost their biggest star for the International Champions Cup tournament in the United States.
