Paris (AFP) – Paris Saint-Germain said Monday that their 18-year-old forward Odsonne Edouard had been loaned out to Toulouse on a one year deal.

Edouard first made a name for himself at the U17’s European Championships in 2015 when he finished the tournament as the best scorer and best player.

He signed his first professional contract with the French champions in April 2016.

Pascal Dupraz has been looking to strengthen his attacking arsenal after star player Wissam Ben Yedder left for Sevilla and in addition to the young Frenchman has also signed Swedish international Ola Toivonen.

The move is seen as an opportunity for Edouard to gain some experience with the likes of Edinson Cavani and new signings Jese and Hatem Ben Arfa being pipped to lead PSG’s attack. Paris have a track record of loaning out promising players to Toulouse; in 2012/2013 Adrien Rabiot had also spent a year in southern France.
