The reunion of Barcelona stars at Inter Miami was no coincidence, but a succession of events conceived by David Beckham and Jorge Mas, a latent need to surround Lionel Messi with his beloved partners, and, of course, the hierarchy that such figures of the caliber of Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba would bring to the squad. The “Fantastic Four” of Inter Miami always dreamed of retiring together. And they found their ideal place at Chase Stadium.

“We are happy, delighted. After having had a very busy year in Brazil, which was very demanding for me, which I imagined, but the number of games and trips surpassed me, the plan was to return with my friends. With Leo, who we had been talking to,” revealed “El Pistolero” (The Gunman), the last Barcelona star to join the Florida team, during an extensive interview with streamer Davoo Xeneize.

According to Suárez, the reunion was a possibility considered a long time ago: We had always said to finish the career together. When we were in Barcelona, we always dreamed or said to finish the career together. And this possibility arose, I put myself to analyze it and said ‘why not?'”

The legendary Uruguayan striker acknowledged that Major League Soccer presents enormous parity among its teams: “We are enjoying, having a very personal care constantly. The family is happy. The children learning and studying in a country that has other cultures totally different from ours. But I am enjoying what the MLS is, because it is not easy at all like people see it.

“All the teams want to beat us. All the teams come and play you at 150%. You see them against other rivals and they have many defensive shortcomings. And you see them against us and they are constantly concentrated. You see that they raise the level a little, and that makes the league more competitive,” he emphasized.
