Is Alonso the missing piece?

xabi-alonso1

Alonso seems keen to pull on a Real Madrid shirt and Real seem keen to sign the midfielder but as of yet no agreement has been made with Real possibly having to sell befor ethey can buy any more. Alonso was one of, if not the best player for Liverpool last season. Torres and Gerrard often get the headlines and take the glory but Alonso pulls the strings in the middle of the park and makes Liverpool tick. If you look back at Liverpools record last season you will see that a lot of the games in which Liverpool dropped points in Alonso didn’t actually start.

Real Madrid are in need of a player of Alonso’s quality to be the engine of th eteam because the central midfielders that are at the club are OK but don’t have skill or qualities required to run the midfield area of a team filled with such superstars. Although the deal looks likely to go through it is far from certain at the moment but a host of Premiership clubs also said to be hovering to swoop if nothing is sorted ot quickly. Alonso could turn Real from a good team to a great team.
