Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear that he does not want to sell any of his players.

The Spanish giants are currently in the midst of another solid season. Ancelotti’s men sit second in the LaLiga table, have advanced to the Copa del Rey quarterfinals, and will face Liverpool in the Champions League round of 16.

“This squad is untouchable,” proclaimed Ancelotti. “There are players who give it everything like [Dani] Ceballos and [Marco] Asensio. [Toni] Kroos and [Luka] Modric are untouchable. That doesn’t mean they have to play in every game. But these players are making history and will continue to do so at this club.”

Camavinga not playing as often as he would like

Along with wanting to hold on to his established stars, Ancelotti also has no intention of losing Eduardo Camavinga. The 20-year-old France international has found it a bit difficult to find playing time during the current campaign.

In fact, the midfielder has managed to start just five LaLiga games so far this season. Rumors have even surfaced that Camavinga would be open to a loan away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Evening Standard reported on Friday that Arsenal were interested in signing the Madrid midfielder on loan. The Gunners could certainly do with a reinforcement or two in the middle of the pitch, but it seems very unlikely an agreement for Camavinga will work out.

Ancelotti was asked about the link between Arsenal and Camavinga during this press conference on Saturday. “Eduardo is as untouchable as Modric and Kroos,” stated the Real Madrid manager.

Camavinga’s agent Jonathan Barnett, who represents Arsenal duo Kieran Tierney and Rob Holding, also told Fabrizio Romano on Saturday that the deal would not happen. “There’s no truth,” claimed Barnett. “Of course every club in the world would want him, but he’s very happy in Real madrid and Real Madrid are very happy with Camavinga.”

Gunners need to look at other midfield options

Arsenal will now have to turn their attention to other targets. Declan Rice is seemingly atop the north London club’s wish list at the position. Although the England international has reportedly been praising the Gunners privately, a summer move appears more likely.

Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans has also been linked with Arsenal in recent months as well. The dynamic midfielder’s time with the Foxes looks to be winding down, as his current contract expires in June.
