Organizers locked in dates for the upcoming 2024 Copa America and Euro tournaments. Oddly enough, both competitions begin on the same date: June 14, 2024.

The Final for both tournaments is on the same date, too. That is July 14. Soccer fans around the world can only hope that the competing matches start in different time slots.

United States to host 2024 Copa America

The United States was previously chosen to host the 2024 Copa America. This is despite the obvious fact that the competition typically involves South American teams. Nevertheless, the USMNT still must go through the qualification process to compete in the tournament.

In all, six CONCACAF teams will take part in next year’s Copa America. Nations League performances determine the qualification into the Copa America. All 10 CONMEBOL members will automatically qualify for the tournament in the United States. This includes powerhouses Argentina and Brazil.

Previous Euros had over 5 billion in global live audience

At the same time as the Copa America, Germany is hosting Euro 2024. It will be the third time the nation has hosted the competition and the second time since the German reunification. UEFA previously announced that the 2020 tournament ranked as one of the most-watched events in history.

Italy will be looking to repeat as European champions in Germany. The Italians beat England on penalties inside Wembley Stadium. Despite winning the 2020 Euros, Italy failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Outside of the FIFA World Cup, these tournaments are perhaps undeniably the top two international men’s competitions. In fact, every single previous World Cup winning team has come from either Europe or South America.

Complete television schedules for next year’s tournaments are still in the air. Those come out as the tournaments near. The time difference between the United States and Germany should, however, help stagger the matches so fans can catch all of the action.
