Euro 2024 venues: Germany's ten stadiums hosting games

The legendary locations that will play home to the European Championship in 2024 are generating as much buzz as the teams and players themselves. Amidst ten cities in Germany, a nation known for its storied soccer heritage and fervent supporters, Euro 2024 will occur.

Every one of them provides a different setting for the exquisite game. There are venues ranging from ancient arenas to state-of-the-art architectural wonders. Teams will compete in various settings, from the historic allure of Nuremberg to the dynamic energy of Berlin. These stadiums will host matches and moments that fans from all over the globe will never forget.

Ten different cities

Located in Berlin, the Olympiastadion is the epicenter of this soccer festival and has played home to several important matches, including the final. Also worth noting is the Allianz Arena in Munich, famous for its beautiful multi-colored light exterior.

At the same time, stadiums like Gelsenkirchen’s Arena AufSchalke and Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park are known for their exciting environments and fervent fans. Cologne, Hamburg, Leipzig, and Stuttgart are a few other cities with distinctive stadiums.

With the addition of Frankfurt and Düsseldorf to the roster, the tournament will cover the whole length and width of Germany. It will surely provide spectators from every corner with the opportunity to see the thrill firsthand.

Euro 2024: Stadiums and matches

Olympiastadion, Berlin

The Olympiastadion is the largest arena for Euro 2024. It has hosted several prominent games on a continental and international level, including every German Cup final since 1985. Soccer fans saw Italy take on France in the 2006 World Cup final there. Also, in 2015, after nine years, Barcelona won the UEFA Champions League final there after defeating Juventus.

RheinEnergieSTADION, Cologne

The RheinEnergieSTADION, which is Koln’s home field, underwent reconstruction to host World Cup matches in 2006. In addition to American football, ice hockey, and music events, it has been the usual site for Germany’s Women’s Cup final since 2010.

Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund

Among this year’s European Championship’s larger stadiums is Borussia Dortmund’s home. Because of the world-famous “Yellow Wall” stand, it is among the most recognized stadiums. Notable matches played there include Liverpool’s 2001 UEFA Cup final against Deportivo Alaves, as well as other European and World Cup matches.

Merkur Spiel-Arena, Düsseldorf

With a capacity of more than 40,000, the Merkur Spiel-Arena is one of the more modest Euro 2024 sites. Fortuna Düsseldorf, whose most recent season in the Bundesliga was in 2019/20, presently calls it home.

Waldstadion, Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt played its home games in the 1925-built Frankfurt Arena, which has played host to games at many major championships. The UEFA European Championship in 1988 and the FIFA World Cup in 2006 are examples.
