Manchester City's Vincent Kompany Out For Up to 4 Weeks With Groin Injury

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has been ruled out of action for up to four weeks after suffering a groin injury against Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.

Kompany was substituted out of the game against Everton in the 34th minute. The Belgian saw a specialist today where it was confirmed he had a thigh injury. Manchester City’s official club website didn’t announce how long Kompany would be out, but Sky Sports and other sources are reporting that he’ll be out for up for four weeks.

The injury news is worrying news for Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini. With Kompany in his side, the team are a completely different threat. Without him, it’s going to be a test for Matija Nastasic and Joleon Lescott to make do without Kompany.

Kompany will also miss Belgium’s final two World Cup qualifier matches due to injury. He will be missed, as you can see from the video below:

Meanwhile, Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has returned from injury and will be available to play for Belgium in their two matches.
