Aaron Evans Aims To Be First Coach With Disability at a Top Level Club

Aaron Evans was born in Liverpool in 1987 with a serious illness called Cerebral Palsy, which affects an area of the brain.

On top of that, Evans was diagnosed with a chronic stomach illness in 2009 while playing for an academy soccer team. Despite these setbacks, they have never stopped Evans and his love for the beautiful game. Evans has been playing football since he was five years old. He has played for the Llandudno disabled team where he was scouted by Everton FC and then played for the Everton disabled team. Evans also represented Wales and Team Great Britain at youth level but then became very ill with the aforementioned stomach illness. After recovering from this, he realized he had a passion and a drive for football and helping and working with youngsters.

Presently, Evans lives with his very proud mum and dad, and works for Denbighshire County Council. After 15 months of illness, Evans is now the coach at Prestatyn Town, a football side located in North Wales, where he also works with the disabled team. Evans recently helped Prestatyn to a top five finish in the Welsh Premier League and won the Welsh Cup for the first time in the club’s 103-year history. Evans has passed his level two coaching badge and wants to achieve his level 3 (UEFA B) license and then go on to achieve his dream ambition to coach at the highest level.

Evans has also achieved the Award of Wales Young Coach of the Year and Welsh Volunteer of the Year. The real achievement for Evans would be to become the first disabled Manager/Coach at the top level.

Evans is a normal, down to earth man who just loves playing and watching football. I believe Evans will achieve his target of being a coach at a top level club as he has the hunger and desire to succeed. All he wants is to make everyone proud.
