This week’s UEFA Champions League games will include a special new feature exclusive to Paramount+ subscribers.
Titled UCL Multicast, it allows viewers to watch two UEFA Champions League games at the same time on one screen. For example, this week’s matches that kick off at the same time are:
• Liverpool vs. Inter Milan, and Bayern Munich vs. RB Salzburg; Tuesday, 3PM ET
• PSG vs. Real Madrid, and Manchester City vs. Sporting CP; Wednesday 3PM ET
How UCL Multicast works
Paramount+ subscribers can still watch any of the above games in one broadcast as they normally do. However, if you’re interested in watching both games at once, the UCL Multicast feature will include the two games side-by-side. UCL Multicast will also feature half-time and post-match coverage in full screen. Then, the actual match broadcast will have a split screen with both games featured side-by-side. There’ll be a speaker icon where you’ll be able to hear the match commentary.
Having the ability to watch more than one game on a screen isn’t new. But it is new to Paramount+, so it’ll be interesting to see how they pull it off.
UCL Multicast has a lot of competitors. Firstly, ESPN+ has Multicast, which works if you have an Apple TV. With ESPN+’s Multicast, you can watch up to four games at once. Secondly, fuboTV has Multiview. That one also allows you to watch four games at once.
