After surviving a tense finish and defeating Borussia Dortmund 3–2, Real Madrid secured a spot in the Club World Cup semifinals, where they will face Paris Saint-Germain—who eliminated Bayern Munich—on Wednesday, July 9 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

In what is Xabi Alonso’s first tournament as head coach, and following a disappointing 2024/25 season with no trophies, Los Blancos are looking to turn the page and claim the first-ever expanded Club World Cup title. To further motivate the squad, club president Florentino Pérez has offered a significant incentive.

According to Diario AS, Pérez has promised each Real Madrid player a €1 million bonus if they win the tournament. He also made it clear that this competition is as important to the club as the Champions League, signaling the high expectations for the team.

A lucrative prize awaits

Pérez’s proposed bonus would be in addition to the already substantial earnings Real Madrid has secured in the competition. To lift the trophy, they will first have to get past PSG in the semis, then defeat the winner of Fluminense vs. Chelsea in the final.
