The World Cup is over. While it was a pleasure to watch nations compete, there is something comforting about the club game returning. Now, Premier League action returns with midweek games to commemorate Boxing Day.

The holiday is a tradition for the league. All 20 teams compete on the day or succeeding days after Christmas. This year, that brings 10 games over a three-day span. Also, there are some gems among those games.

Brentford and Tottenham welcome back the league following the World Cup. That London clash kicks off at 7:30 a.m. ET. Then, other games on Monday include Crystal Palace welcoming Fulham in another team of London foes. Finally, Arsenal takes on West Ham in a third fixture involving London opponents on the day.

In total, there are seven games on Boxing Day. There are then two games on Tuesday and a lone game on Wednesday. That Wednesday game is particularly interesting.

Leeds United, which has defeated Liverpool and Chelsea this season with narrow losses to Spurs and Arsenal, faces Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s side stumbled into the international break with a 2-1 loss at home to Brentford. However, Erling Haaland did not compete at the World Cup. Therefore, he is well-rested and energized to score at will in the league.
