Klose Could Miss Out On Final World Cup Fixture

Klose Could Miss Out On His Last Chance To Achieve Legendary World Cup Status.

Germany’s Miroslav Klose, who is on the verge of breaking the World Cup goal-scoring record, could miss out on Germany’s third-place playoff game against Uruguay on Saturday.

Should Klose miss the match, he will then most likely miss out on his last chance to equal Ronaldo’s 15-goal record for World Cup cumulative World Cup goals.

At his club side, Bayern Munich, Klose only managed to score three goals all season and was in absolutely dreadful form before joining up with his national side for this summer’s World Cup tournament. Klose has the chance to finish his career with a bang on Saturday, though. Should he score just one more World Cup goal, he will draw level with Brazil’s Ronaldo as the highest World Cup goal-scorer of all-time. Klose, surely, will not play in another World Cup tournament, and he will be devastated if an injury rules him out of a chance at having his name written in the history books.

Klose won the World Cup 2006 golden boot with six goals, but Germany were knocked out of the tournament by eventual winners Italy in the semi-finals.
