Joachim Loew Admits Germany Were Beaten By The Best

Loew Deserves Another Shot At The World Cup With Germany.

At the post-match press conference, Germany head coach Joachim Loew admitted that he thought Spain were the

better of the two teams, and that they deserved their victory. Germany will now play Uruguay for third place, while Spain head into the World Cup final where they will face Holland.

From Goal.com: “We are obviously sad because we lost the semi-final,” Loew said in a post-match press conference to Sky. “My compliments to Spain and the coach [Vicente del Bosque] because they played an excellent game. In the last two or three years, they have been the best team. We were never able to get into this match compared to previous games. We couldn’t do anything and they deserved to beat us. We saw straight away that it wasn’t our game. We didn’t have the courage and we knew were behind them in terms of play. It was difficult for us to get the ball as they have great skills. It is hard to understand why we didn’t play as we wanted,” concluded Loew.

Loew, despite defeat in the semi-final to Spain, should be given the chance to re-sign with Germany for another four year term with the national side. Loew must be admired for the way he has brought through younger players who performed sensationally at this year’s World Cup tournament, and who will only do better as they mature into complete footballers.

News will surely emerge in the coming days on whether or not Loew will be given an extension on his contract as national team coach.
