Arsenal gets back on track with domination of Sevilla

The UEFA Champions League continued on Wednesday as Arsenal hosted Sevilla. Entering matchday four, the Gunners sat atop Group B. They had two wins and a loss following its three games, and that includes a win over Sevilla in the reverse fixture.

Sevilla, however, began the night third in the group with two draws and a loss. Therefore, their chances of qualifying for the knockout stages depend on the results over the next three games. Three points, or even a draw, against Arsenal would have been a huge gain for its hopes.

Sevilla doesn’t record first shot until final kick of game

The Gunners dominated the match against Spanish opposition on Wednesday at home. Leandro Trossard and Bukayo Saka scored the two goals for the hosts and a stingy defense kept Sevilla at bay. In fact, the visitors only managed one total shot attempt on the night. The lone shot came in the sixth, and final, minute of added time.

Sevilla manager Diego Alonso seemed more concerned with a matchup with Real Betis at the weekend rather than the Champions League fixture. Many of Sevilla’s first team stars were relegated to the bench for the matchup with Arsenal. This was despite the fact that the Spanish side still has a chance to advance in the Champions League.

Follow along below to get updates on all the major moments from the game as they happen.
