Vieira injury causes Domenech problems.

Less than a week after being cut from the French 23 for the European Championships, the AC Milan midfielder Matthieu Flamini has been recalled as cover for Patrick Vieira. Squads can be changed anytime until midnight on June 8th and Domenech has serious concerns that Vieira may not recover from a thigh injury in time to play any part in Frances Group C games. The French begin their campaign on Monday with a mouth-watering clash against Romania and Flamini will be flying out to Switzerland on Wednesday with the rest of the squad in case Vieira fails to recover.

Vieira picked up the thigh strain whilst in training for France‘s friendly against Paraguay and he  faces a race against time to prove his fitness before the cut off point in what would be a massive blow for French hopes of winning the trophy for a third time.

Meanwhile, Ryan Babel is expected to have recovered from his ankle ligament injury within 5-6 weeks and be available for the Dutch Olympic squad.
