Paris Saint-Germain denounced club supporters that gathered outside of Neymar’s home on Wednesday. The relatively small group of fans essentially staged a protest next to the Brazilian’s home. They called for the 31-year-old forward to leave the club by chanting “get lost!”

Paris Saint-Germain most strongly condemns the intolerable and insulting actions of a small group of individuals that took place on Wednesday,” said the club in an official press release.

“Whatever the differences of opinion, nothing justifies such actions. The club gives its full support to its players, its staff and all those targeted by such shameful behavior.”

Neymar hits back at PSG fans with Instagram ‘likes’

Neymar responded to the fans with a post on his Instagram story. “Don’t let people put you in their storm, put them in your peace,” proclaimed the Brazilian in the temporary post. While seemingly taking the high road with the subdued words, Neymar liked a few interesting posts as well.

The former Barcelona star liked a post labeling PSG a “small club.” He then also liked another post claiming that he and his teammate Lionel Messi were both happier with Barca. PSG recently suspended Messi for skipping a training visit to Saudi Arabia. The decision has amplified rumors that the World Cup winner with Argentina will depart PSG at the end of the season.

Star’s future with club remains up in the air

Neymar’s latest issues with the Parisian fans will most likely continue similar rumors for him as well. It remains to be seen if the Brazilian will remain with PSG once Messi leaves this summer. Neymar does, however, still have multiple years remaining on his current contract.

PSG fans have had a bit of a contentious relationship with Neymar since he arrived in 2017. Despite winning nine significant trophies with the club, they have failed to collect the elusive Champions League title. Nevertheless, Neymar has certainly performed on the pitch. He currently has 18 goals and 17 assists in 29 total matches in an injury-shortened season. The electric forward has not played since suffering an ankle injury in February.
