Wednesday’s London derby between West Ham United and Arsenal in Round Four of the League Cup ended as a convincing victory for the Hammers.
Played at London Stadium, West Ham hosted Arsenal in a game that saw the return of Declan Rice to the pitch where he played for the Hammers for several years.
With no VAR being used in the game, West Ham took an early lead after a disputed goal, but cemented their victory after a sensational goal from Mohammed Kudus and a deflected goal by Jarrod Bowen. Arsenal pulled one back from Odegaard, but it wasn’t enough. The Hammers advance to the quarterfinals of the League Cup, and Arsenal are out.
So too is Manchester City who got knocked out of an earlier round.
